At the inauguration of the 16th Political Council of ALBA-TCP inaugurated here, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez stated that the meeting''s agenda responds to the regional political situation, characterized by an onslaught of imperialism against the processes progressives.
Latin America and the Caribbean face growing threats to international peace and security, as well as the resurgence of unconventional aggression against Venezuela. However, they have not been able to do with the Bolivarian revolution, which has just successfully celebrated the recent municipal elections, Rodríguez said.
The Cuban Foreign Minister reiterated that the ALBA political council necessarily pronounces itself in support of Venezuela: we will be together in the circumstances to come, pointed out the minister.
On the other hand, the action of our united America continues at a moment in which without a doubt the project of the Bolivarian Alliance for the peoples of Our America - Treaty of Commerce of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP), the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), and other integration projects require an additional boost, he added.
According to the Cuban foreign ministry, among the main themes of this 16th meeting are the need for cooperation mechanisms to face natural phenomena, and other matters of regional and international importance.
The official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Eugenio Martinez informed in a press conference that the executive secretary of the Political Council, David Choquehuanca, will present the draft thematic plan for year 2018.
