Cuba and Spain coincide in strengthening bilateral relations

Cuba Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez and Spain’s State Secretary of Foreign Affairs Fernando Garcia confirmed the interest of strengthening and widening their links.

Both personalities confirmed the positive status of bilateral relations and ratified the will to consolidate it at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Havana.

Shortly before, the distinguished visitor met the deputy ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Rogelio Sierra, and talked to him about the most pressing issues of bilateral and international agenda.

In the meeting, both parties highlighted the favorable status of relations between Cuba and the European Union after the signing of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement in December 2015.

Garcia was accompanied by Francisco Montalban, Spain ambassador in Havana, Pablo Gomez de Olea, General Director for Ibero-America, and Jorge Friend, Chief of Staff of the State Secretariat for International and Ibero-American Cooperation.

Meanwhile, the director of Europea and Canada, Elio Rodriguez, and other officials of the Foreign Ministry also attended the meeting.
