Camaguey: Cuban Ministers Check Progress in Installation of Powdered Milk Plant

The Cuban Minister of Economy and Planning Adel Yzquierdo Rodriguez, visited this Monday the powdered milk processing plant that is under construction in Camaguey using Chinese technology, which must start its start-up tests next August 25th. Yzquierdo Rodriguez who is also member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Cuba, received detailed information on this processing plant, which will have to begin its production at the end of September.

Yzquierdo, vice-president of the Council of Ministers, in company of Gustavo Rodríguez Rollero, Agriculture Management, visited also cow-houses and roads that provide industry with fresh milk.

Yenisley Hernández, specialist of the Food industry, said that microbiological problems must be solved to achieve a product with higher quality.

During the visit, the minister of the Food Industry, María del Carmen Concepción, highlighted the progress in the last stage of investment.

For his part, Alexis Gil Pérez, director of the Dairy Product Company in Camaguey, ratified the importance of this factory, which will replace big imports.

The Cuban ministers were accompanied by Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Camaguey and Isabel González Cárdenas, president of the Provincial Assembly of People's Power in the province.
