The United States does not cease trying to hinder the entry of money to Cuba, in order to “alienate internal support for the Revolution through disenchantment and discouragement, based on dissatisfaction and economic difficulties, in order to cause hunger, desperation and the overthrow of the government,” as stated by Undersecretary of State Lester Mallory, in April 1960.

The most recent campaign to spread terror among those who wish to travel to Cuba is being orchestrated by the anti-Cuban mafia in Miami, through the so-called Assembly of the Cuban Resistance, who has urged the authorities of Miami-Dade County and the State of Florida to implement a temporary moratorium on travel to Cuba, with the supposed objective of “protecting” residents of that State from the risks posed by the “critical” epidemiological and health situation on the island, due to the presence of the Oropouche virus.

Behind this new campaign are the federal senators, Marco Rubio and Rick Scott, as well as Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida.

The action against travel to Cuba is based on information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the United States, stating that until August 16, 2024, 21 cases of infection by the Oropouche virus had been registered in travelers who returned from Cuba to the United States, 20 detected in Florida and one in New York, but they ignore the fact that the CDC also stated that the official number of infected people on the Island is the lowest in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

To create more fear in potential tourists to Cuba, they released the information in relevant newspapers in the United States and Spain, something they do not do against Latin American and Caribbean countries, where the virus is more strongly reported in cases, such as Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago and French Guiana, but for these there’s no request for a temporary moratorium on travel.

Scientists consider that, in the last 60 years, about 500,000 cases of the disease have been diagnosed in Brazil. In the current year 2024, 10,000 cases are reported and on July 25, the authorities reported the first two deaths of young women due to the Oropouche virus.

Faced with this true health crisis in Brazil, the United States has not requested a temporary suspension of travel to the South American giant.

Last May, Cuban health authorities confirmed the presence of the Oropouche virus for the first time and since its appearance, no serious cases or deaths have been reported, out of the 506 reported, which is the lowest figure in the Latin American and Caribbean region, according to the National Director of Hygiene and Epidemiology, on August 28, 2024.

Specifically, Puerto Rico declared a public health emergency in the first five months of 2024, detecting the highest number of Dengue cases in all year 2023.

The anti-Cuban mobsters must alert the population of Florida that, in the week of August 18-24, In 2024, two more cases of locally transmitted Dengue were reported in that State, which means a total of 25 cases in six counties this year, according to the latest data from the Florida Department of Health.

If they are so concerned about the health of their citizens, why don't they force airlines that fly to the United States to put an alert in all their offices abroad about the increase in cases of Covid-19 and Dengue that can cause so many deaths?
