Upcoming Patria Colloquium: A time for debate

The Institute of Information and Social Communication (ICS) highlighted that the upcoming 5th International Patria Colloquium, to be held from April 16th thru the 18th at the Línea y 18 Cultural Station in Havana, will be a meeting where communication specialists, journalists, and students will discuss the role of technology, digitization, and artificial intelligence in journalistic production for social media today.
According to the organizers, in a message on the institution’s Facebook page, they anticipate the attendance of some 150 international participants, with 100 confirmed to date, including delegations from Mexico and Russia.
The program includes alternative workshops led by high-level experts, as well as morning and afternoon panels that will address the integration of communication with available technological tools.
The virtual format will allow communicators from other provinces to participate, joining the discussions and exchanging experiences.
The sessions will be complemented by cultural activities, film screenings, and opportunities to showcase the current state of communication in Cuba and internationally.
There will also be opportunities to analyze experiences from the private sector related to the country’s new economic dynamics.
A significant moment of this edition will be the inauguration of the headquarters of Proyecto Patria, conceived as a permanent platform for the development of communication initiatives.
