Government is the Only One Working for Venezuela

Caracas, Aug 30 (Prensa Latina) The only political force that today works to overcome the difficult situation in Venezuela is the Bolivarian government, the Venezuelan Minister for Communication and Information, Luis José Marcano said today.

'The opposition has failed in its attempt to suggest that the exit of President Nicolás Maduro is the solution to the situation in the country,' he added.

Making his comments on the Venezuelan program 'TV Forum', Marcano emphasized that most Venezuelan citizens understand that only the Bolivarian Revolution can overcome the economic emergency in the country (which is the product of a drop in oil prices) and that social tensions have been generated by the destabilizing campaign of the opposition.

'To improve the current economic situation, the Venezuelan executive is creating a new productive model that will make the nation independent from petroleum,' he said.

The opposition has called for a march, on September 1st, in favor of a referendum to remove the president from office. Marcano called for Venezuelans to avoid violence and the destabilization of the country. 'In Venezuela, 84 of every 100 adults has a pension, more than one million dwellings have been dedicated to persons in vulnerability conditions and almost six million citizens have been provided with a decent house,' added Marcano.
