Iran Confirms US Empty Offer for Dialogue

Iran on Saturday confirmed the US empty offer for a dialogue, and denounced more sanctions by Washington against the Iranian petrochemical industry.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi said that the measure adopted by the US Government on Friday shows the emptiness of President Donald Trump's statements about the talks with Tehran.

The sanctions are another case of economic terrorism and are in line with the White House's hostile policies towards Iran, he said.

It took a week for the emptiness of Trump's proposal to become a reality, Mousavi said.

In any case, the call for dialogue consists of a scheme designed to confuse public opinion, the diplomat added.

The ongoing pressures by the United States on Iran and the imposition of sanctions violate international principles and rules and the law, as well as the obligations of a government with the world community, the foreign minister stressed.
