Cuba stays unbeaten against Jamaica
especiales
Cuba got its second victory in the 2014 Centrobasket Championship defeating Jamaica by score of 70-58, a win that maintains their unbeaten record in the competition.
It was a close game with a Cuba team that looked much more organized on both sides of the court, against a Jamaican as usual stayed in the game thanks to the destabilizing Weyinmi Rose and Akeem Scott. Both, along with Blair Galfierd, led a Jamaican offense that relied far too much on their individual attributes.
Cuba, meanwhile, was able to get the ball to the paint and had a good contribution from Jasiel Rivero, along with who so far is a revelation in Javier Justiz, who took advantage of a Jamaica that gave centimeters in the low post. Cuba forced errors and got the win, which gets them very close to the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship qualification.
The best of the game for Cuba was Rivero with 18 points and 7 rebounds, while Scott did the same for Jamaica with 20 points. -
