The team of Bahamas defeated the National Team of Cuba, 77 – 71, to finalize the first round of the tournament in first place of Group A, for its part Cuba ended in second place of Group A. Both teams classified to the Semi-Finals of the 2014 CBC Championship, and await the result of the game between the teams of US Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands to know their opponent of the Semi-Finals.

The game between the National Teams of Cuba and Bahamas, will define the two teams of Group A that will classify to the Semi-Finals of the 2014 CBC Championship, if Cuba won, Cuba and Antigua classified, but if Bahamas won, Bahamas and Cuba classified to the Semi-Finals.

The Cubans continued to decrease the opponents advantage, with 3:20 to play of the third quarter the Bahama’s advantage was of 3 points, 47 – 44. The teams traded annotations and at the start of the fourth quarter, Bahamas had a 4 point lead, 54 – 50.

In the first minute of the game, Bahamas extended the lead to 7, but Cuba responded with 5 straight points to reduce the opponents lead to 2 points, 57 – 55. Cuba continued playing the individual game, not much passes on offense, which allowed Bahamas to extend the lead to 8 once again. Bahamas for its par was betting on long distance shots. With 3:30 to play, the Bahama’s lead was again at 3 points, 69 -66. Bahamas took better decisions on offense, extended again their lead and took the victory, 77 – 71, and defined who from Group A will classify to the Semi-Finals.
