The Venezuelan people will warmly receive their two-time world champion in the triple jump, Yulimar Rojas, who returns to the country after her outstanding performance at the World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.
On Twitter, Minister for Youth and Sport Pedro Infante called on people to travel to the Simon Bolivar International Airport, in the state of La Guaira, where the Venezuelan champion will arrive on Wednesday.
According to specialists, Rojas is experiencing the best year of her career, as seen in her competitive triumphs.
With her 15.37m jump in the recently concluded event in Doha, the athlete took gold and became the second woman to reach the top of the podium in the triple jump in four world championships, two indoor and two outdoor: Portland 2016, London 2017, Birmingham 2018 and Doha 2019.
After recovering from ankle injuries that affected her performance in 2018, Rojas returned to the tracks with the goal of surpassing the 15 meter mark.
In June she announced at the Ibero-American Championships in Athletics in Huelva, Spain, that she was ready to consolidate herself as the champion of this discipline by setting a national record with a leap of 15.06 meters, surpassing her 15.02m in Madrid 2016.
Two months later, she arrived at the Pan American Games in Lima in search of her first continental title, after debuting in Toronto 2014 in fourth place, but her expected duel with Colombia's Caterine Ibargüen did not occur due to injury and withdrawal.
Rojas was able to consolidate herself in that event with another huge jump of 15.11m, which earned her the gold medal and set national and Pan American records. 'From now on I want to leap over 15 meters, I can not be below that mark,' she said then.
After each victory of the athlete, President Nicolas Maduro has recognized her achievements and congratulated her, as inspiring national pride.
