Spanish Foreign Minister to Visit Cuba

The minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, Alfonso Dastis, will pay an official visit to Cuba on September 5 and 6, the Foreign Ministry website reported.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez paid an official visit to Spain in April, during which he met with King Felipe VI, President Mariano Rajoy and Dastis.
On that occasion, Rodriguez invited King Felipe VI and Rajoy to visit Cuba, according to the official information released at the time.
Local media repoted that the meeting with Rajoy focused on the historic cultural and family ties that unite both countries and other issues of common interest.
Rodriguez also expressed to King Felipe VI the Cuban government's gratitude for the presence of King Emeritus Juan Carlos I in the funeral honors to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
