Mexico, Apr 26 (Prensa Latina) The 20th World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit entered session on Monday in the resort of Cancun, in Quintana Roo, where it analyzes the recovery after Covid-19.

This is one of the major tourism events bringing together the leaders of the global private travel and tourism sector and will serve as a platform to strengthen the promotion of the Mexican Caribbean and attract tourism investment to Quintana Roo.

The summit is largely held in person due to the high standards of safety and sanitary measures in the case of Cancun, one of the first global destinations to receive the Safe Travels Security Stamp issued by the WTTC, which allows international events.

Dario Flota, general director of the Tourism Promotion Council in Quintana Roo, indicated that the Mexican Caribbean once again sets an example of effort and will to overcome obstacles and face challenges with responsibility and respect.

Under the theme 'Uniting the World for Recovery,' the event includes about 600 delegates in person and 20,000 virtually.

The summit will hold sessions until tomorrow, April 27, and during that time, several initiatives related to the travel and tourism sector in terms of sustainability, digital agenda, social impact and women's empowerment, thus promoting gender equality, will be presented.
