Havana, Nov 30 (Prensa Latina) Representatives from several countries and international organizations condemned the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, at a virtual forum held in Vienna on Monday.

The Cuban Embassy in Austria and the country's Permanent Mission at the United Nations said on the Cubaminrex website that the US blockade was condemned at a Seminar on the Impact of Unilateral Coercive Measures in the Covid-19 Context.

The information says that UN Special Rapporteur Alena Douhan rejected Washington's hostile actions, which have been intensified despite the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

She noted the demand from Russia's permanent representative at the UN, Mikhail Ulyanov, regarding punishments against the countries most affected by Covid-19.

At the forum, Center South Executive Director Carlos Maria Correa admitted that these unilateral measures have serious effects on countries like Cuba, Iran and Venezuela.

The Cuban ambassador to Austria and permanent representative before Vienna-based UN bodies, Loipa Sanchez, noted that the US blockade is the longest system of unilateral coercive measures ever applied against a country.
