Moscow, Apr 4 (Prensa Latina) United Nations Undersecretary General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths on Monday requested to establish a humanitarian pause throughout Ukraine, during a conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in this capital.

The senior UN official noted that he was the bearer of that request on behalf of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. He stated that “it may not be possible today,” but he clarified that he would like to “discuss a process that would lead to it.”

At the meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov explained to the visitor that his country considers the events in the Ukrainian town of Bucha a provocation that directly threatens international peace and security.

He stated that Moscow will again demand the United Kingdom, which holds the presidency of the UN Security Council, to convene an urgent meeting about the issue, a request that was denied by London on Sunday.

The senior Moscow official described the released images as “an attack of fakes”, according to which the Russian military forces allegedly killed Ukrainian civilians in the town of Bucha.

According to Lavrov, a scenario that Ukraine and “its Western sponsors” disperse through all possible channels and social media was carried out in Bucha.

On Sunday, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova assured that the Western countries’ statements about the images from Bucha, lead Moscow to suspect their involvement in those events.
