Havana, Jan 12 (Prensa Latina) Today, making a central database available, with almost up-to-the-minute information, made it possible to begin the path towards the digital transformation of the tax administration in Cuba, assured authorities of that activity in the country.

Under the concept of placing the citizen/taxpayer at the center of the service or procedure at his/her disposal, in middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, the work for an informatic evolution that was being developed at the National Tax Administration Office (ONAT by its acronym in Spanish) was accelerated.

This was emphasized by the deputy head of that entity, Reinaldo Alemán, when he explained at Mesa Redonda, the Cuban television informative show, the details of those changes, which continuously improve the internal processes, procedures and the applications that support them in an integrated tax management technological platform.

This tool, he pointed out, links the local databases with the central one, which contains detailed information of all taxpayers registered in the country, including their contribution to the State´s budget.

Among the main results is the consolidation of the Citizen´s Tax Site (www.onat.gob.cu), which operates since December 2020 and that has almost 50, 500 users and has received 533, 000 views.

The deputy head of the ONAT also highlighted the implementation of the digital signature in the Cuban tax administration as another advance of the work deployed in 2021, which is already certified for 134 taxpayers.
