Spanish association expresses support for Cuba

Valencia, Spain, Oct 14 (Prensa Latina) The president of the José Martí association of friendship with Cuba, based in Valencia, Rocío Raya Galvin, reiterated her support for Cuba and its socialist model.
In statements to Prensa Latina, Raya Galvin, who heads the organizing committee of the 16th National Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba in Spain, highlighted the relevance of the event in its position of rejection to the US blockade.
As she explained, the event under the title “Cuba, Revolution of Solidarity”, has among its objectives to demonstrate once again that Cuba is not alone and at the same time express the absolute support for Cuba’s socialist model.
“On this occasion we have the participation of more than 130 delegates from all over Spain, together with a Cuban delegation from various fields, science, history, culture, journalism and representatives of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP),” Raya Galvin stated.
She said that talks open to Valencian citizens will be held throughout the weekend, along with concerts against the blockade of Cuba, exhibitions and workshops to strengthen bilateral ties.
The design of new solidarity campaigns to help in extreme situations, such as Hurricane Ian or the accidents at the supertanker terminal in Matanzas and at the Hotel Saratoga in Havana, are among the topics on the agenda of the meeting.
Also, the topics of communication strategies in social networks, validity of the thought of Fidel Castro, and Cuban women, will be spoken of at the meeting of the State Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (MESC), whose opening remarks will be given by Ambassador Marcelino Medina.
