South Asia exceeds 40,000 deaths by Covid-19

New Delhi, Jul 24 (Prensa Latina) South Asian countries, which hold more than one-fifth of humankind, reported more than 40,000 deaths by Covid-19.

The vast region reported 1,834,572 confirmed cases and 40,445 deaths on Friday, according to the Disaster Management Center of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation.

At least 1,198,148 patients have recovered from the disease in the region, made up of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

South Asia increased the average recovery rate of the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus to 65.31%.
