Solidarity from Cuba and towards Cuba

Solidarity is an essential part of Cuban culture, and our nation does not conceive its victories without contributing to those of other brotherly peoples.

Behind this respectable value, Cuba has unleashed the audacity and courage of countless people ready to save the nations of the planet, with a quality of love for others rooted and put to the test since that victorious January.

Thanks to intelligence, perseverance and the conviction of the legitimacy of what we do and defend, the Cuban balsam is spreading to other countries of the world without giving what we have too much, but sharing what we have.

The image of our social project, in terms of solidarity, no one so far has been able to erase it to impose the simple capitalist recipe that if I pay I command.

The prestige of Cuba is very clear; the examples that show that quality are palpable. It is irrefutable truth when the world condemns in each annual session of the United Nations General Assembly the criminal blockade of the United States against Cuba.

The quality of solidarity of the Cubans has contributed to this support, present everywhere, without their minds set on enrichment, but rather on offering cooperation, even at the risk of losing their lives.

The project of the Latin American School of Medicine to educate free of charge humble young people from Latin America, Africa and the United States, is a symbol of Cuban solidarity extended by concept of medical collaboration to several countries.

In various poor and rich geographies, Cuba has been fighting against deadly diseases or simply bringing health to remote places, building social works, sharing knowledge, instructing, advising projects… promoting hand in hand under the sign of solidarity.

Beyond ideological differences, Cuba’s detachment has been shown by practicing respectful relations of unrenounceable principles, without harming models or conducts disapproved by the socialist system.

It is also comforting to appreciate the international cooperation of friendly countries and distant institutions, which, making use of solidarity, support Cuba with stories of shared fortunes and mutual help.

In difficult times, marked by economic asphyxia, the discredit of the Revolution and the attempt of cultural colonization, in which the enemy tries to deconfigure the Cuban social project, the world solidarity towards Cuba multiplies.

With more deeds than words, in situations of severe weather adversities, many sister nations have supported with donations, with essential resources to improve the quality of life of the Cuban people in need.

The world’s expressions of solidarity towards the island have knocked on the doors of medical assistance with shipments of supplies, medicines and hospital devices.

Other gestures of solidarity with Cuba have been the sending of material and financial donations in response to the fatal events such as the explosion at the Saratoga Hotel, the fire at the Supertanker Base and the effects of Hurricane Ian.

Evidently, the experiences of solidarity with Cuba and from Cuba seek to eliminate social gaps and offer spaces for growth to the needy of the world, in spite of the inhuman policies of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States that still persists against the largest of the Antilles.
