Moscow, Mar 10 (Prensa Latina) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov considered last Sunday's attacks between Yemen and Saudi Arabia unacceptable, the Russian media reported on Wednesday.

'The attacks on the civil infrastructure, which can have consequences for the civil population, are unacceptable,' Lavrov said in a joint press conference in Riyadh with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

The Russian diplomat expressed that he hopes that the parties 'realize the need of ending hostilities and support the efforts of Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General, Martin Griffiths.'

Lavrov said that the US decision of ending the support to military operations of the Arab coalition against Yemen does not guarantee the establishment of a peaceful situation. 'Inclusive internal negotiations are needed' in that country, he pointed out.

According to TASS news agency, the Russian Foreign Minister arrived in Riyadh as the second stop of his tour across Persian Gulf countries, which began in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

On Wednesday, Lavrov was supposed to travel to Doha, where he would meet his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, also with Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and with Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
