Russian army breaks through Ukrainian defense line in Zaporozhye

The lines of defense of the Ukrainian troops were broken as a result of the offensive actions of the Russian Armed Forces in Zaporozhye region, reported the Deputy Governor of the province, Vladimir Rogov.

As the official explained to the Vzgliad newspaper, elements of the Russian Armed Forces managed to overrun the positions of the Ukrainian troops in the first line of defense, as well as in some sectors in the second and third lines.

Rogov added that thanks to the tactical successes of the Russian army, as well as the precise work of the artillery and aviation, the front line is gradually shifting to the north of the region, and Ukrainian troops daily suffer heavy losses in personnel and matériel.

Previously, the Russian military high command reported that the Ukrainian forces were expelled from the strategic village of Kamenskoye, in the Zaporozhye region, thanks to the Russian offensive.
