Russia thwarts new provocation of NATO planes

Moscow, Aug 31 (Prensa Latina) Russia's Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that A Russian SU-27 fighter thwarted a new provocation by planes of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) near the limits of this nation on the Baltic Sea.

The anti-aircraft defense of the Baltic fleet activated a SU-27 fighter to identify the targets: a US RC-135 spy plane, a Danish Challenger, a German P-3C Orion air patrol boat, and a Gulfstream from Sweden, which is a NATO associate country.

Russia's fighter plane accompanied the aircrafts of the western countries until they did not change their course to move away from the national border, the capital's television noted.

At least two SU-27 fighters thwarted another US outrage on Saturday with a flight near Russia's airspace of a B-52H strategic bomber, also in the Baltic Sea.

The two Russian fighter jets approached the known US air fortress, capable of carrying nuclear weapons and long-range winged missiles, at a safe distance and accompanied it until they made sure that it was moving away from the limits of this nation.

On Sunday, SU-27 fighters intercepted the flight of an RC-135 spy plane, a Gulfstream from Sweden and a Challenger from Denmark.
