Moscow, Jun 27 (Prensa Latina) The Ukrainian army was ordered to eliminate the foreign mercenaries still present in the cities of Lisichansk and Severodonetsk, the authorities of the Lugansk People's Republic reported.
According to the military command of the rebel region, the “contractors” carry with them confidential information about the activity of intelligence entities from other countries in Ukraine.
The declared intention is to keep them from falling into the hands of the allied forces (Russians, Chechens, DPR/LPR).
The LPR command stated that bodies of several foreign combatants were found in the two mentioned locations, as the allied forces went into the offensive.
According to the assistant to the Minister of the Interior of the region, Vitali Kisiliov, at least 120 “soldiers of fortune” from Poland, the United Kingdom, France and the United States perished in the clashes in Lisichansk.
Russia warned that the Geneva conventions and the rules of war regarding the protection of prisoners of war do not apply to mercenaries.
