Moscow, Dec 23 (Prensa Latina) Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a press conference on Thursday that, so far, his country considers the US response to its proposals on legal security guarantees positive.

He said that their American partners tell them that they are ready to start this discussion, these negotiations, at the beginning of the year in Geneva, representatives of both sides were appointed and he hopes that the situation will evolve in this course. According to the head of State, Moscow should reflect on the prospects of safeguarding its security, taking into account the possibility of creating a kind of anti-Russia in Ukraine, with the constant transfer of modern weapons and brainwashing of the population.

In this regard, he asked whether Russia should then live all the time looking at what happens there; therefore, he stressed that his country has to think about security prospects, not even for today or next week, but for the near future.

The president emphasized that stability and security are priorities for the country, so without any tricks, they just say bluntly that there should be no more NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) movements to the east.

On December 17, the local Foreign Ministry revealed the contents of the documents containing Russia’s initiatives for the establishment of legal agreements with the United States on security guarantees.

According to the national authorities, the other text is a proposal for an agreement on measures to ensure the security of Russia and NATO member states.

Both drafts were delivered to the US counterpart on December 15 and, according to political analysts, reflect Moscow’s aspirations to put an end to the confrontation between the parties and the possibility of achieving the much-needed stability and peace.
