Moscow, Nov 8 (Prensa Latina) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will meet on Monday in Moscow with his Venezuelan counterpart Felix Plasencia, to deepen bilateral ties, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova informed.

Upon his arrival in Moscow on Sunday, the Venezuelan foreign minister wrote on his Twitter account that he traveled “with the instruction by President Nicolas Maduro to strengthen our unconditional alliance with the people and the Government of the Russian Federation.”

On October 28, the spokeswoman pointed out that this is Plasencia’s first official visit to Russia since his appointment.

Zakharova informed that both officials will exchange on a wide range of issues of the bilateral agenda, including the fight against Covid-19.

The 15th meeting of the Russia-Venezuela High Level Intergovernmental Commission (CIAN) took place in Moscow on October 14 and 15, days of intense negotiations in which the representatives of both countries committed themselves to expand alliances in economic matters.

Concrete results of the event were the nine memorandums of understanding signed in the areas of energy development, info-communication, tourism and sports.

The Venezuelan delegation was headed by Jorge Arreaza, Minister of Industries and National Production, while the Russian delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov.

Borisov stressed that Caracas is a strategic and trusted partner in Latin America.
