The vice president of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, said today that his country and the United States will take decades to completely normalize their bilateral relations.

The former president of Russia accused, from his Telegram channel, the outgoing administration of the White House of having left its successors the legacy of a very serious crisis, intentionally.

In this regard, the politician warned that the damage caused by Joe Biden’s administration will be felt for a long time.

“Communication is going to be extremely difficult,” he predicted.

Then, the former president clarified that such normalization “is impossible in principle, as things stand.”

And to be perfectly frank, it is not clear whether it is necessary, he emphasized.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov labeled as “enormous” the damage caused to the Slavic nation’s bilateral relations with the United States by the outgoing Biden administration.

In this sense, the representative of the Schiller Institute to the UN in New York, Richard Black, commented to Sputnik agency that the legacy of the outgoing US president, including the support to the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the aid to Ukraine, are a resounding failure.

Meanwhile, he specified that a meeting between the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and Donald Trump would be the first wise step of the new administration.

“The intention to meet with President Putin soon after the inauguration, announced by Trump, is a hopeful sign that the current real slide towards World War III, guided by NATO, will be successfully stopped,” the specialist stated.

The Russian leader previously stated that he is open for talks based on mutual respect and seeking to create a new security architecture, where Russia’s security is guaranteed.
