Recovery phase in eastern and central Cuba after tropical storm

Havana, Aug 25 (Prensa Latina) The National General Staff of Cuba's Civil Defense established on Tuesday the recovery phase for the eastern and central regions of the country after the passage of Tropical Storm Laura.
According to an informative note from that institution, the decision, in force since 7:00 a.m. local time, took into account that the meteorological phenomenon continues to move away from the largest of the Antilles and its evolution and trajectory does not represent a danger for the mentioned territories.
The referred phase covers the provinces of Guantanamo, Santiago de Cuba, Granma, Las Tunas, Holguin, Camagüey, Ciego de Avila, Sancti Spiritus, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara and Matanzas, the last one in the west of Cuba.
During the execution of recovery actions, it is necessary to comply with the protection measures established in the Prevention and Control Plan for the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, and the guidelines of the local authorities, the text states.
It also recognizes the work carried out by the management bodies in all the territories and the solidarity shown by the population in the disciplined compliance with measures oriented during the response to this event.
