The number of patients recovered from Covid-19 in Cuba increased to 1,862, following seven new medical discharges on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Public Health.

Francisco Duran, director of Epidemiology for the Ministry of Health, communicated both figures during his daily press briefing to update on the impact of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Cuba and the world.

In his report, Duran confirmed 18 new cases as a result of 2,020 real-time PCR tests carried out also on Saturday, of which a total of 118,488 have been carried out since the first infected in the country appeared.

The specialist stressed that there were no deaths to regret for the eighth consecutive day, thus the number of deaths in Cuba remains at 83.

The doctor urged Cubans once again to comply with protective measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, at a time when the country is in a favorable epidemiological situation due to the decrease in cases confirmed with Covid-19.
