Questions in El Salvador in cooperation with US on immigration

Salvadorans maintain expectations and questions about the extent of alleged commitments reached by the country's authorities with the United States to face the migration challenge.
US officials quoted by local media said President Nayib Bukele offered “tremendous levels of cooperation” on migration issues to the White House.
Stephen Miller, White House deputy chief of staff for policy and national security adviser, said the president “will be a big, strong partner for this administration and for the United States.”
The US official’s statement raises questions about a variety of issues related to migration, especially rumors that the country will receive immigrants from third countries on its territory.
Miller deflected questions from some media to an upcoming visit to the country by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The top US diplomat’s trip to Central America, including El Salvador, is aimed at countering China’s presence in the region, State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said Tuesday.
However, the migration issue is expected to be the tipping point for nations in the area, including El Salvador, political analysts say.
