Presidents of Russia and Belarus to meet in Minsk

Minsk, Dec 16 (Prensa Latina) The presidents of Belarus and Russia, Aleksander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin, will meet next Monday in Minsk to address the new challenges in the region, said the office of the Belarusian president.
According to the statement, the talks between Lukashenko and Putin, who will visit Minsk starting from December 19th, will take place the same day at the Minsk Independence Palace.
The presidents will give priority attention to security issues, exchange views on the regional and world situation, and discuss joint response measures to new challenges, according to the staatement.
In addition, Lukashenko and Putin will study in depth the implementation of economic and trade cooperation programs within the framework of the State of the Union, with special emphasis on import substitution projects.
Collaboration in the energy sector, according to the statement, will be another important topic during that meeting.
