President congratulates Cuban women

Havana, March 8 (RHC)-- President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Tuesday congratulated the women of his country on the commemoration of International Women's Day.

"To all Cuban women, who with their work make the homeland proud, congratulations and thanks for sustaining and raising creative resistance every day," said the president on Twitter.

The head of state subscribed a thought of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on the occasion expressed in March 1990.

Fidel said, "The struggle for women's equality in all aspects is a priority task of our Party (Communist Party of Cuba); it was, is, and will be a priority task of our Revolution. Together with you in that struggle, the Party will be in the front line, and we will not stop fighting for it.

Today is a world day of demands for women's rights, many fulfilled on the Caribbean island.
