Pope Leo XIV on Monday called for an end to "antisemitic violence" and "hatred," one day after the attack perpetrated in Sydney, Australia, during the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, which left at least 15 people dead.
"I entrust to the Lord the victims of the terrorist attack carried out yesterday against the Jewish community of Sydney. Enough of these forms of antisemitic violence! We must root hatred from our hearts," the pontiff declared in a speech at the Vatican.
