Palestinian ambassador denounces Israel as a source of violence

United Nations, May 27 (Prensa Latina) Palestinian Ambassador to the UN Riad Mansour denounced on Thursday at the Security Council that the colonialist and racist policy of the Israeli government is the source of violence and conflict.

In his speech, the diplomat called on the 15-member body to implement its resolutions to achieve a fair and lasting peace in the region because it is time to apply them as soon as possible, he highlighted.

Every day, he said, the Palestinian people continue to suffer as Tel Aviv continues its policy of forced displacement in occupied territories and holy sites.

The Gaza Strip is now on the verge of a total crisis following the bombardments, Mansour detailed and demanded an immediate end to Israel's blockade and the cessation of aggressions.

My people will only accept a path that leads to freedom and dignity, but there can be no peace without recognizing the sovereignty of Palestine, he assured.
