Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada stated that Cuba has all the right to defend itself because it is being attacked, after commenting on the social and economic limitations imposed by the US blockade against the island.

In exclusive statements to Prensa Latina during his working visit to Moscow, the diplomat described the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the different Washington administrations against the Caribbean nation as a crime against humanity for more than 60 years.

Moncada stressed that the destabilizing actions launched against the Caribbean island in recent days have the same objective: to overthrow the Revolution and the revolutionary government.

'Despite the cost and suffering generated by the blockade and all US unilateral, illegal and arbitrary measures, we must resist, fight, win and move forward in defense of the rights of our peoples.' he said.

He assured that there are many points of contact between the recent provocations in Cuba and the psychological warfare the Sandinista Revolution faced in 2018 by using Information and Communication Technologies.

The politician explained that those methods are aimed at affecting mood, morale, encouraging discouragement, social confusion, using lies and manipulation to make people doubt their authorities' efforts.

The Nicaraguan foreign minister denounced that such dangers prevail and increase in the Central American nation ahead of the November 7 elections.
