A New International Order is Urgently Needed, Affirms Cuban Foreign Minister

Cuba's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, called today from this capital for the establishment of a new democratic and equitable international order.
On X, the island's foreign minister described as urgent the need to revitalize an order that "guarantees peace, the right to development, sovereign equality, and the participation and representation of developing countries in global policy decisions."
In the post, Rodríguez asserted that such a system must respect and promote multilateralism, while also anticipating that it should contribute "to achieving the common good, prosperity, and harmony with nature."
The Caribbean island's foreign minister opined that the new order must guarantee "all human rights for all people."
Recent global events point to a geopolitical transformation fueled by aggressions and violations of international law established in the UN Charter and other forums.
Just last week, the Donald Trump administration announced its withdrawal from over 60 international organizations, conventions, and treaties, nearly half of them affiliated with the United Nations.
In this regard, the head of Cuban diplomacy recalled at that time that almost a year ago, the White House decided to abandon the multilateralism that the majority of the international community promotes.
In contrast, they are increasing military spending to record levels to sustain their threats and military aggressions, affirmed the foreign minister of the Caribbean nation.
