A new air connection between José Martí Airport in Havana, Frank País Airport in Holguín, and Jardines del Rey Airport in Cayo Coco has been established to link several of Cuba's most significant tourist hubs, aiming to enhance the travel offerings for both national and foreign clients.

The route operates with two frequencies on Sundays. An initial flight departs in the morning from the Cuban capital to the airfield in the northeastern territory and then continues its journey to the northern cay resorts. In the afternoon, the aircraft makes the return trip, Reinaldo Pavón Pérez, head of the Ground Operations Unit at the Holguín terminal, informed the ACN.

Currently, these tickets are marketed by the travel agency Havanatur with a primary focus on tourist excursions; however, national passengers can also access the service by purchasing tickets at the tour operator's reservation bureaus.

The initiative is essential for diversifying the visitor offering, expanding internal transport alternatives, reducing transfer times, and facilitating the design of combined tourist packages.

In addition to this new connection, the Holguín terminal maintains two weekly frequencies of regular domestic flights, while the international segment is experiencing a high season with an increased number of flights compared to the previous year, he noted.

Pavón Pérez specified that the Frank País International Airport manages between 50 and 55 weekly operations. The primary markets supporting this flow to the sun-and-beach destinations of the northeastern region are Canada, Poland, Russia, and the United States.

To meet demand, maintenance and renovation work has been carried out in various areas to guarantee operational safety and elevate customer satisfaction levels.

The greatest challenge for the team of workers lies in maintaining a high-quality service that meets passenger demands while preparing for the potential arrival of new flights.

Located 10 kilometers from the city of Holguín, the Frank País García International Airport is noted for its high safety and efficiency standards, comparable to terminals in nations with advanced aeronautical development.
