More Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in Cuba

Havana, Dec 17 (Prensa Latina) A total of 29,126,523 doses of locally-developed vaccines against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, have been administered in Cuba to date, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported on Friday.
According to the MINSAP, 10,235,340 have people received a shot of the Cuban vaccines, whereas 9,275,241 have already received the second dose, and 8,870,275 Cubans have been administered the third one.
Some 9,402,992 citizens have been fully vaccinated; that is, 84.1 percent of the country’s population, the source reported.
According to the Cuban scientific community, the domestic vaccines are safe and do not cause serious adverse effects.
A vaccination campaign is currently underway with a booster dose, which is being administered gradually in order to achieve greater protection in the face of new coronavirus variants and relaxed measures.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics and Information, at the end of 2020, the Cuban population was about 11,180,000 inhabitants.
