Havana, Oct 25 (RHC) In compliance with Cuba's migration agreements with the United States, Mexico, and the Bahamas, 7,770 irregular Cuban migrants have been returned to the island so far this year.

As of Sunday, the U.S. Coast Guard had carried out 97 operations to return people intercepted on the high seas while trying to illegally reach that country.

In total, more than 5,600 Cubans have been returned, in compliance with the commitment of that nation to apply the same procedure and immigration rules to them as to citizens of other countries, by its laws and international standards.

So far this year, Bahamian authorities have also returned 438 persons by air to Cuba.

Likewise, Mexican immigration services have carried out 36 flights, returning more than 1,900 irregular Cuban migrants.

In the case of the Cayman Islands, four migrants have been repatriated by air (Granma).
