Majority of Brazilians support Bolsonaro’s arrest for coup attempt

Former president Jair Bolsonaro should be arrested for the alleged coup attempt in 2022, 52% of Brazilians, according to a survey by Datafolha institute published, says.
The research indicates that 42% of those interviewed maintain that Bolsonaro should not go to prison and seven did not know how to answer.
When asked if the former governor (2019-2022) would, in fact, be imprisoned, 52% think no, 41 think yes and seven also did not express themselves.
When comparing regions, the north/central-west presents a technical tie, where 47% believe that the ex-military should be imprisoned, against 45 who say the opposite.
In the southern region, 49% believe that the far-right politician should remain free, compared to 46% who want him to be locked up.
Religion also seems to influence the response. Among Catholics interviewed, 55% support Bolsonaro’s arrest, versus 39 who oppose it.
Among evangelicals, 54% are against the arrest, compared to 38 in favor.
