Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro confirmed that his country is not a colony of the World Bank or the International Monetary Fund or anyone else, but rather it is building its own model of economic independence.
Maduro said in statements during a meeting with the Economic Council last night, according to Al-Mayadeen: The country has its own economic development.. noting that "a clown like Javier Miley (President of Argentina) is destroying the economy of our sister Argentina."
Maduro also confirmed that Venezuela is united with ALBA (Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Latin America) and with its brothers from Cuba.
He added: "Cuba knows that it can count on us to move forward, as is the case for Latin America and the entire Caribbean region."
The Venezuelan president approved several measures, most notably: "approving 13 engines of the economy and production in the country to be developed during the new term," and "appointing those responsible for the engines of production."
The National Economic Council urged to submit an action plan in line with measures to enhance the export substitution plan through domestic production, as well as the investment and credit plan, giving priority to the country's real economy, a plan to generate income in convertible currencies, improving the public procurement plan and the country's tax development plan to continue expanding the tax collection base with the aim of putting an end to tax evasion.
