Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is winding up a state visit to Chile on Tuesday during which the two nations signed some 20 agreements in different areas and announced projects that will contribute to regional integration.

The agreements include sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, science, technology, trade, security, the fight against hunger, and energy.

An extradition treaty to facilitate the fight against organized crime, another on the mutual recognition of driver’s licenses, an action plan to implement the tourism cooperation agreement, and a memorandum on the State’s digital transformation appear on the list.

Lula and his Chilean counterpart, Gabriel Boric, will visit this Tuesday the Aeronautical Museum in the Cerrillos district of Santiago, where a space cooperation agreement will be signed.

Accompanied by a delegation consisting of 14 ministers and more than 250 entrepreneurs, the Brazilian president attended the closing of a managerial forum on Monday.

Lula also met in Santiago with the presidents of the Supreme Court Ricardo Blanco; the Senate, Jose Garcia Ruminot; and the Chamber of Deputies, Karol Cariola.
