Next week, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador will receive the U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, who will arrive in Mexico City on October 3, where he will remain until October 5, in the context of the High-Level Security Dialogue (HLSD).

Blinken will travel to Mexico from Texas, where he has been since yesterday, presumably to try to iron out the differences with the government of Greg Abbott, Mexico’s archenemy, caused by the very strong friction over the immigration issue.

The Secretary of State will be accompanied by his Homeland Security colleague, Alejandro N. Mayorkas, U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland, White House National Security Advisor Liz Sherwood-Randall and other senior officials from Joe Biden’s administration.

The group will join their Mexican counterparts for bilateral dialogue and stakeholder engagements, according to information from the two foreign ministries.

Also accompanying Blinken will be Under Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian A. Nichols and Assistant Secretary for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Todd D. Robinson.
