Leaders celebrate agreements between Colombian Government and ELN

Latin American and world leaders congratulate the Government of Colombia and the National Liberation Army (ELN) for the Cuba Agreement reached in the third cycle of dialogues held in this island.

“The Patria Grande and the world receive with joy the dialogue for peace and ceasefire in Colombia. We congratulate our brother president @petrogustavo and the ELN commanders for the agreements signed”, Bolivian leader Evo Morales in his Twitter profile expressed.

Similarly, Brazilian President Luis Inácio Lula da Silva congratulated Colombia, in particular President Petro, for the ceasefire agreement with the ELN.

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for these dialogues, Carlos Ruiz Massieu, echoed António Guterres’ congratulations on the approval of the Cuba Agreements, which represent a fundamental milestone in the process, opening a stage of permanent activity at the peace-building table.

President Miguel Díaz-Canel, in a pleasant meeting with his counterpart Gustavo Petro, reaffirmed Cuba’s unwavering commitment to continue working with tenacity at the Peace Dialogue Table, in full compliance with the protocols and in search of the peace that the Colombian people longs for and deserves.
