Tokyo January 6 (RHC)-- The Government of Japan has sent 13 units of X-ray equipment for Cuba's health system, official sources reported.

The shipment is part of the fourth installment of Japan's Non-Refundable Financial Aid to Cuba and will arrive on February 21.

It was also made known that the 500 units of suction equipment -which are in addition to those already sent last November 22- left last December 20 from the port of Yokohama and should arrive in Cuba on February 7.

Based on an agreement signed in 2016, with the backing of the Japanese government's Non-Refundable Financial Assistance Fund, Cuba has received technological support, mainly aimed at the health sector.

Last October, Tokyo sent a total of 44 ultrasound stations for the diagnosis of various pathologies manufactured by the Fujifilm corporation and equipped with the most modern technology.
