Italy Reports 31,775 new Covid-19 Cases, 92 Deaths

As many as 195,575 samples were conducted. Positivity rate reached 16.2%, a downsizing of 0.7% compared with Friday´s report.

A study by the Higher Sanity Institute (ISS, in Italian) confirmed that Covid-19 significantly reduced its lethality rate, from 19.6% at the beginning of the pandemic in January 2020 to only 0.2% in August 2022.

The ISS also indicated that the percentage of reinfections out of the total number of Covid-19 cases reported was 15.0% in the last week, slightly lower than in the previous week, when it reached 16.4%.
