German authorities confirmed on Wednesday that Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto will pay an official visit to Berlin and will meet wit his local counterpart, Boris Pistorius, to strengthen European cooperation.
A press release informed that the welcome of the distinguished visitor will include military honors and both officials will lay wreaths before a monument to the German Armed Forces in Berlin.
Afterwards, they will have a working dinner, where they are expected to discuss matters related to their ministries, preparations for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit and the current situation in the Sahel region.
The document states that Italy is one of Germany’s closest and most important partners in the continent. In this regard, ‘there is broad and deep cooperation between the two countries’ armies, including training, exercises and missions.’
