Israeli Forces Raid Two Schools in Syria

Israeli occupation forces stormed a school today in the village of Al-Hurriya, located in Syria’s southwestern Quneitra province, according to local reports.
Residents stated that the soldiers broke down the school’s doors, ransacked classrooms, and destroyed property before withdrawing from the site. The motives behind the action remain unclear, they said.
Earlier, an Israeli military patrol had also raided a school in the nearby locality of Kodna, in southern Quneitra. According to eyewitnesses, troops arrested two children who were playing soccer on the school grounds.
The Israeli military claimed its operations were in response to individuals allegedly filming military installations near Tal Al-Ahmar. However, no further details were provided regarding the detained children or their current whereabouts.
Residents of Kodna reported that such Israeli incursions have become an almost daily occurrence. These include raids on residential areas, roadblocks, the establishment of military checkpoints, civilian searches, and the confiscation of personal belongings such as mobile phones.
Last Thursday, one civilian was killed and seven others were reportedly abducted during an Israeli military incursion into the town of Beit Jin. The operation was supported by tanks, armored personnel carriers, and infantry vehicles.
Israeli forces continue to carry out frequent incursions in the provinces of Quneitra, Daraa, and the Damascus countryside, engaging in acts such as the destruction of farmland, arrests of civilians and farmers, and livestock confiscation.
Following the ousting of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on December 8, 2024, Israeli air forces reportedly launched around 500 airstrikes targeting military facilities, effectively destroying much of the former Syrian army's arsenal.
Despite repeated assurances from Syria’s current authorities that the country poses no threat to its neighbors, including Israel, the latter has continued ground and air attacks, many of which have resulted in civilian casualties.
