Tehran, Feb 20 (Prensa Latina) Iran is the only country with the right to demand conditions in the nuclear deal because it never withdrew from it, according to a message by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic Ali Khamenei, disclosed on Saturday on social media. The United States must lift its anti-Iranian punitive measures and resume its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Khamenei underlines in his message.
'The party with the right to set up conditions on the JCPOA is Tehran. If Washington wants to resume its obligations, it must lift sanctions first,' Khamenei stressed.

However, he added that Iranian authorities will verify if the annulment of punitive measures is effective or just words.

'If those sanctions are lifted, we will comply with JCPOA obligations again,' he said.

The Biden administration said it would will return to the nuclear deal if Iran abides by its original letter. It also intends to include topics alien to that treaty.

The Islamic Republic rejects that position, whereas the United States abandoned the multilateral agreement and imposed anti-Iranian measures that had been annuled by the JCPOA.
