International observers confirm transparent Russian elections

International observers on Sunday confirmed public accountability and free attendance to the Russian presidential elections, which conclude today after a three-day voting period.

“We´ve seen open elections where people have been attending freely since March 15,” said Nicanor Moscoso, president of the Council of Electoral Experts of Latin America (CEELA), in exclusive interview with Prensa Latina,

We have the experience after having attended 140 elections in Latin America in 20 years, although this is the first time that CEELA serves as observer institution in Russia, added Moscoso.

According to Moscoso, he and other Latin American observers have been very surprised by the three voting systems being used in these Russian presidential elections, all of them very effective and secure.
