Havana reported a single Covid-19 case

Ten of the cases were detected in the central province of Sancti Spiritus; 3 in Ciego de Avila (center); 1 in Pinar del Rio (west), and 1 in Havana, he said.

Dr. Duran, the most familiar face in the fight against this so-called silent enemy, expressed his astonishment after detecting a single case in Havana, but at the same time he expressed his joy, because he believes it is possible to control Covid-19 with responsibility and discipline, something already achieved by seven provinces and the special municipality of Isle of Youth.

He also reported that 43 people were discharged in the past hours, thus the number of Covid-19 recoveries rose to 5,321.

Dr. Duran described the number of people cured as positive, because there were more cases healed by the Cuban healthcare system than new hospital admissions.

Of the 15 diagnosed cases, all Cuban, 5 are female and 10 male, and 6 were asympthomatic at the moment of the test, he said.

The expert said that the number of pediatric cases rose to 653, of which 590 are already on medical discharge.

He reiterated that minors had a positive evolution and praised the dedication of Cuban pediatricians, who devoted themselves to the care of children, teenagers, and young people.

At present, 452 people suffer from Covid-19 in Cuba, 450 of whom have a clinically stable evolution.

Duran said that no one died in the past hours, and the country's death toll remains at 123. He also regretted that two patients are seriously ill in intensive care.
