Havana Mambo Festival resumes agenda of popular music and dances

Havana, Aug 16 (Prensa Latina) The Organizing Committee of the Havana Mambo Festival will resume the second edition of the event from August 24 to 28, with a program focused on music, dances and popular traditions.
The event resumes its agenda, maintains the iconic Salon Rosado de La Tropical as its main venue and promotes a rueda de casino contest.
During two days, the aspirants will compete to the rhythm of well-known groups from Cuba, among them Lazarito Valdés y Bamboleo, El Niño y la Verdad, Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco, and El Charangón de Elito Revé.
According to the press release, for the closing date, on Sunday 28th, they are planning an action to support the Venezuelan homemade movement, with the purpose of breaking the Guinness record for music and dance.
Leonel Limonta and Azúcar Negra will take part in this initiative, topped off by a concert by Havana D’ Primera, Gran Premio Cubadisco 2022, founded by Alexander Abreu on October 4, 2007, the date of his first live performance at the Habana Libre Cabaret.
In addition, the Havana Mambo Fair will take place in the outdoor areas of the capital venue, with sales of books, records, gastronomic offers and the intervention of community projects, as well as the Dale Mambo colloquium, from the Meliá Habana Hotel.
The latter will be attended by musicologists, researchers, creators, journalists and program leaders for the development of lectures, panels and practical classes.
